tives,andgeographicalfocuses,butweshouldalsobecarefulnotto
spreadtoomuchoptimism.Wemighthavecultivatedanddeveloped
akindoffriendlyinterdisciplinaryplaygroundhereandthere,while
eachofthetoys,games,andrulesofthegamesusedcould,perhaps,
causelittleprovocationandirritationtomorrow.Themostwecansay
nowisthatthefutureoftransatlanticrelationsstudies4goesbymany
names’(VictorHugo)and,aswitheveryundertaking,itsoutcomeswill
dependonthestandardsweassign,discuss,anddecidetoday.
