Thedescriptionsoftheseeventsarenotverydetailedasitisnottheaimofthe
Çgvedicpoetstopresentalltheiraspectsinawaythatmirrorsreality.Theyrather
outlinetheirgeneralscenarioorchosemomentscrucialforagivenevent.This
allowsustotracethewaytheÇgvedicpoetsthoughtabouttheseevents.Wecan
seenotonlytheirsalientaspectsbutalsoacleartendencytounifytheirnatureand
scenario.Generally,theyarepresentedaslife-givingprocessesandtheircommon
scenarioisthatalife-givingentityappearsthroughthedestructionofanentity
whichembodiesarestrainingorcontainingforce.Inthemajorityofdescriptions
ofthedefiningevents,itisthelife-givingentitywhichdestroystherestraining
entity.Thusitfunctionsatthesametimeastheefficientandasthefinalcauseof
theevent.Thelife-givingentitiesIcallthesymbolsoflight,therestrainingentities
Icallthesymbolsofdarkness.Theunifiedscenarioofthedefiningeventswhich
canbeconstruedthankstoisolatingcommonfeaturesofverydifferentprocesses
andactivitiesprovidesproofofthetendencytoabstractionandgeneralisationat
