Introduction
Soilerosionisageomorphologicalprocessthat,indifferentforms,occursinall
climatomorphogeneticregionsoftheEarth.Soil,asoneofthenaturalresources,
isirreplaceableforman1itisoneofthebasicmeansofproductionnotonlyin
agriculturebutalsoinforestry,notmentioningitsvitalecologicalfunction.At
present,erosioninthecentralEurope(exceptforalpineorsubalpineareaswith
predominantglacialerosion)ismainlyrepresentedbywindandwatererosion.
Itsmoreintensiveoccurrenceonfarmlandandevenonforestlandcancause
degradationofthissoilandthereforefinancialloss.Theintensityoferosionis
aglobalissuebecauseanirreplaceablenaturalresourceisbeingdamaged.Ero-
sionaffectsnotonlyfarmlandbutalsoforestland;itresultsinthesoillosingits
mineralcontentandnutrients,whichhasanegativeeffectontheproductionrate
(farmland)andannualgrowthofthewoodmatter(forestland).
ThisstudydealswithforestsoilwatererosionintheregionoftheMoravskos-
lezskeBeskydyMts,locatedinthenorth-eastoftheCzechRepublic,tothesouth
oftheOstravacity(Fig.1).Theareasstudiedincludeespeciallythewatersheds
