caldatatohand,aswellasitssignificanceasregardsthestatusofthe

medicalscience.Itwouldbemistakentoassumethatthetaskofthe
aforementionedscientificdomainwastoformulateontologicalreason-
ing,andevenlesssotocreatelegalnormssurroundingthestatusof
humanlifeinitsprenatalphase.Forcenturies,thoseresponsiblefor
providinganswerstothosequestionspertainingtotheexactnatureof
existencewerephilosophers,notdoctors.Inasimilarmanner,itisnot
thoserepresentingthebiomedicalscienceswhoareinanywaythose
Kpredestined’tobethesolearchitectsoflegalaxiomsinthematterof
thevariousobligationswhichnascentlifeencompasses,althoughit
goeswithoutsayingthatitispreciselythosefromwithinthisparticular
fieldofsciencewhowillendupbeingtheguardiansofthisnascentlife
hereinquestion.

placecanonicallawsregardingtheinterruptionofpregnancy)tookinto
accountappositedescriptions,aslaidoutbyAristotle;lawupuntilthe
18thcenturyaccordedincrementallevelsoflegalolencetotheKmodifier’
