WesterntraditionsandWesternphilosophy,encouraging
thetendenciesfamiliartotheEasternthought:theradical
turntothehumansubjectasthesourceofpowertofind
aproperdwellingintheworld;theprocessesofmelting
downthefirm“I”ofthemodernidealisticphilosophy
intothemultiplicityofdrivesoraggregates;theemphasis
onthephenomenological“presentness”resultinginthe
re-evaluationofexperienceasboththesourceofandthe
guidetoanunderstandingoftheworld.6
Tenewparadigmhasalsomanifesteditselfinthe
expandedscopeofwhatweperceiveandappreciateasart.
Havingtorndowntheconventionalgenreboundaries,the
limitationsoftheself-containedidentityandthetraditional
formsofpresentationandreception,arthasliterallybecome
frameless,blurringtheestablishedstandardsoftheaesthetic
evaluation.Tenewfunctionsofarthaverequiredboth
artandartiststoacquirenewvirtues-theincreasedself-
awareness,thecourageofamythicalwarriorandthe
sharpnessofsight,sinceartshouldnotonlybeabletokeep
pacewiththehumanjourneyintothecoreofourexistence
butitalsohastomoveforwardtothevanguardandbecome
notsomuchtheanswerasthepreciousPromiseofananswer
tothepersistentaskingabouttheSense.Tisimpossible
taskhasinvolvedthepermanentrevolutioninthename
ofthetruthconcealedwithintheworldbut“setting”itself
inaworkofart.(“Tenatureofartwouldthenbethis:
