Thepresentworkwillbedevotedtothestudyofhowthetechnicalproblemsrelated
tothedesignofcombustionenginescouldbesolvedbasedonthefundamentallaws
ofthermodynamics.Practicalexamplesofhowtousethermodynamicsfordescrib-
ingphysicalphenomenaandmathematicalsimulationsofheatexchangeprocesses
inthecombustionengineswillbepresented.Allthewell-knownsolutionsused
inthevehiclesengineeringandrelatedtothefundamentaltheoryofcombustion
enginesarepresentedinthecurrentwork.Thesesolutionsarepistoncompressors

Specialattentionwillbepaidtothetheory,fundamentalprocessesanalysis(based
onempiricaltestsresults)andinthecaseofinternalcombustionengines-tothe
influenceofharmfulsubstancescontainedintheexhaustgasontheenvironment.
Inthe1stchapter(authorDmytroSamoilenko,PhD)thetheoryofrevised
heatengineswillbesupportedbythepracticalstudyofpistoncompressors.Atfirst,
indicatingofthepistoncompressorandprocessingofobtainedindicatordiagram
willberealized.Then,calculationofthethermodynamicparametersandenergy
quantitiesofthetheoreticalcompressorswillbefulfilled.Afterthesecalculations,
thefinalanalysisofthecharacteristicsoftherealcompressorascomparedtotheo-
reticalonewillbecarriedout.
Chapter2(authorMateuszbednarski,MSc)willprovidethereaderwiththe
theoreticalknowledgeofarefrigerantcircuitandsupportedbyapracticalexample
ofrealautomobileairconditioningsystem.Firstly,thebasictheoryofrefrigeration
cyclewillbeexplained,andrefrigerantfeatureswillbepresented.Thentheobject
ofexperimentalwork,i.e.realairconditionersystemofacar,mountedonthe
laboratorytestsetup,willbeintroduced.Thefinalpartwillconsistofadescription
