AftertwentyyearsIdecidedtoverifyamongfellowprofessorsandtheir

youngerassociatesfromotherPolishandforeignhighereducationinstitutions,

whatisthewayofpracticingsciencetoday.Withwhatpreoccupiedare

younglogisticiansandtheirmastersfromRussia–fromSt.PetersburgState

Thetwentyfirstcenturyisacknowledgedasthecenturyofinformation,

innovationandgenerallyfunctioningwithintheenvironment,whichhasbeen

co-createdbytechnologicaldevelopmentandglobalisation.Theirimpacton

economyiscrucial,andsimultaneouslytheyareforcingchangewithrespect

toorganisations’resources.Increasedsignificanceofahuman,hissuperior

roletomanagementprocesses,isoneofreasonsbehindemergenceof

sociallogistics.Materialisationofthisfieldofdeliberationstranslatesinto

transformationofviewonsomelogistics’applications,requiringgreatersocial

sensitivityfromdecisionmakers.

Such–albeitnotall–changesinperceptionofmarketmechanisms

causedtheoreticiansandpractitionersoflogisticstowidenthescopeoftheir

interests–fromregulationoffundamentalactivitiesorlogistic,transport

ortechnologicalprocesses,throughmanagementofsupplychainsornetworks,

torecognitionofmarketmechanismsandlogisticspositionisshaping

them.Theattentionmayalsorevolvearoundnewunconventionalapplications

oflogistics,fittingmainlyintodomainofsociallogistics(e.g.issues

ofhumanitarianaidorblooddonationorganisations).Finally,thesupport

ofeducationalprocesses,aimedatassuringreinforcementoflogisticsstaffing
