Summary
Theworkdescribesthetheoreticalandpracticalaspectsofhighporositymaterials
withdirectedporosity,referredtoinliteratureas“gasars”or“lotus-likestructures”.
Itisacriticalliteratureanalysiswithresultsofownresearchconductedininternational
cooperationandbasedontheproposedAuthors,interpretationofmethodologicalap-
proaches,conventionallyexpressedintheformoftwoscientificschools:Ukrainian
andJapaneseones.Theoreticalfoundationsrelatedtothemutualinteractioninthe
metal-gassystemoccurringunderexternalpressurearepresented,bothintheformof
gas-eutectictransformationandgas-evolutioncrystallizationreaction.Thephaseequi-
libriumdiagramsofthemetal-gassystemarediscussedindetailontheexampleof
aluminum-hydrogenandmagnesium-hydrogensystems.Methodsofproducinggiven
materialsbyliquid-phasemethodsaredescribed,elucidatoryindetailtheconstruc-
tionsofdevicesandappliedtechnologicalprocesses.Structuralspecificitywasana-
lyzed,payingattentiontothemechanismsofshapingthestructureofhigh-porous
metalswithatargetedstructure,andacomplexoftheirpropertiesandexamplesof
practicalusewithexistingandpotentialapplicationswaspresented.
AttemptstogasarsmodelingarepresentedwithAuthors,originalmodelsandap-
proximations.Consensualnamingofstructureswithorderedporositywasproposed
anddevelopmentdirectionsforanewclassofmaterials,sofarpracticallyunknownin
domesticliterature,werespecified.Thepublicationisthefirstcomprehensiveattempt
todescribeinPolishthetheoryandpracticeofadvancedmaterialsolutionincontem-
porarymaterialengineeringhighporousmetalswithatargetedstructure.
