lished,laterrenamedtheInternationalCommitteeofSportsfortheDeaf
(ICSD).Currently,ICSDistheorganizerofthemostimportantsporting
eventsforthedeafcommunity,includingthesummerandwinterWorld
GamesfortheDeaf,calledDeaflympicsGamessince2001.In1955,ICSD
enteredtheInternationalOlympicCommittee.Atpresent,thenumberof
nationalfederationsinICSDmembershiphasreached113.
TedevelopmentoftheOlympicdeafsport(aspartofSummerDeafly-
mpics)ispresentedinTable1[Deaflympics.SummerDeaflympics,Winter
Deaflympics].InalloftheSummerDeaflympicshelduntil2017,thePolish
deafathleteswon36gold,54silver,and72bronzemedals[Deaflympics.
