takesonanamiablemeaning:nolongerassociatedwithdreadfulglobalization,it

describesanewmodeofco-existenceasexperiencingnewopportunitiesandnew

horizons.

Itisclearthatadescriptiveapproachdominatesinourvolume.Tebeliefthat

descriptionisnotasimportantasinterpretationhasprevailedinthehumanities

foralongtime.However,today,humanistsﬁnallyrecognizethatdescriptionis
