Abstract
Inthispaperwepresentanewmethodforanalyzingtheconsistency
ofpreferencesofnegotiatorsinbuildingtheirscoringsystemsofnegotiationoffers.
Themethodweproposecanbeusedwhenthepreferencesaredefinedasgeneral
examplesoffullpackageswiththeaccompanyingutilityscore9asitisdoneinthe
NegoManagenegotiationsupportsystemintheconjointanalysisapproach.During
thepreferenceelicitationstagethenegotiatorsidentifytheindifferencesurfaces
(orindifferencesets)towhichtheyalsoassignsamplealternativesandscores.
Theverificationofsuchtheconsistencyofthisassignmentisbasedontheconcept
oftheJaccardindex9thatallowsformeasuringthesimilaritybetweenfuzzysets.Since
weobtainacharacteristicsofequivalencesetsintheformofprobabilitydistributions9
whicharefurthertreatedasfuzzysetmembershipfunctions9wecanusethedistribution
characteristicstocomputetheJaccardindexforeverypairofequivalencesetselicited
fromthenegotiator.Iftheseindexesaretoohigh9thecorrespondingindifferencesets
shouldbereconsideredorintegrated.
