Foundationprovidedfundsfortheprojectaspartofastandardgrant.Thisal-

lowedtheinvolvementofoutstandingmusicteachersfromtheGroup’scoun-

tries,suchasPoland,Slovakia,theCzechRepublicandHungary,intheproject.

Inaddition,participantsfromotherEuropeancountries,suchasGermany,Lux-

emburgandUkraine,joinedtheconference.Intotal,approximately50papers

weredeliveredbyparticipantsrepresentingsevencountries.

Theconferencefocusedonseveralimportantissuesthat,whilechosentore-

callimportanthistoricalachievementsofmusiceducationinthispartofEurope,

intheultimateconclusionweredemonstratedtohaveleftanindeliblemarkon

thedevelopmentofthisdiscipline,andtohaveinspiredthecreationofvarious

trends,aswellasresearchandteachingcontributionsinmoderntimes.These

topicswereclassifiedasfollows:

Theconferencewasformallyopenedon16October2014,ataceremonyat

theDucalCastleinSłupsk,aformerseatoftheDukesofPomerania.Speeches

referringtothetopicstobediscussedatthemeetingweredeliveredby:the

ConsulGeneralofGermanyinGdańsk,Dr.CorneliaPieper,whoalsoextended

herhonoraryauspicesovertheconference,andbytherepresentativesoftheau-

thoritiesofthemainorganiseroftheevent,thePomeranianUniversityin

Słupsk,theHonourableVice-ChancellorProf.RomanDrozd,andPro-Vice-

ChancellorforScience,Prof.TadeuszSucharski.

EberhardPreussner.ThismeetingwasheldatthesecondaryschoolinSłupskin

whichE.Preussner’sfather,Oscar,wasateacher.AnexhibitiondevotedtoLeo
