In2020,ProfessorWiesławPuścelebrateshis80thbirthday.Hehasbeenassociated
obtainedfurtheracademicdegreesandtitlesatthisuniversity.In1998,thePresidentofthe
withtheUniversityofLodzforoverhalfacentury.Hewasemployedin1966and
RepublicofPolandawardedhimthetitleofprofessorofhumanities.TheJubilat’sextensive
outputisdominatedbyworksonthehistoryofindustryandthepastofcitiesandindustrial
agglomerationsoftheLodzregion,followedbyworksonthehistoryofJews,thehistory
ofscienceandculture,andthehistoryofthemilitary.Hisworksareknownandappreciated
byresearchers,asevidencedby,amongothersnumerousfootnotesinvariouspublications
referringtotheProfessor’sresearchfindings.Heistheauthorof180works,including
12monographsand20articlesinforeignlanguages.Intheaccomplishmentsofevery
academicteacher,educatingyoungstaffisextremelyimportant.Theprofessorpromoted
8doctors,over300masters,andmorethan30timeswasareviewerofdoctorates,inhabili-
tationthesesandforthetitleofprofessor.ProfessorW.Puśisabletoskillfullycombinesci-
entificanddidacticworkwithorganizationalactivities.Fortwotermshewasthehonorable
RectoroftheUniversityofLodz,alsofortwotermshewasVice-RectorofAlmaMater,dean
oftheFacultyofPhilosophyandHistoryandheadoftheDepartmentofSocio-Economic
History.HeisanhonorarymemberofthePolishHistoricalSocietyandamemberofthe
LodzScientificSociety.Hefoundedthescientificjournal“StudiesinSocio-EconomicHistory
ofthe19thand20thCenturies”in2003.Forhisactivitiesinvariousfieldsofacademicactiv-
ity,hewasawardedwithawardsofministerialministersandtheRectoroftheUniversity
ofLodz.
