Temasonrysarcophagusstoodonabase

thanthesuperstructure.Itwasflanked
onbothsidesbysingleloculiofthesame
lengthasthemonumentandabout0.90m
wide(ontheoutside),coveredwithflat
slabs.Tegroundlevelusedtobeabout
0.45mbelowtheupperedgeofthebase
andthetopoftheslabscoveringtheloculi,
whichmeansthattheburialnicheswere
sunkintotheground.Tetombwasbuilt
oflimestoneblocksandslabsofatypical
size,approximately0.60mlong,0.30m
highinthebaseand0.34mhighinthe
mainbodyofthestructure.Someblocks
inthedecoratedeasternfacadeandthe
roofelementswereatypicallybiggerinsize
(0.30x0.41x0.66m).

ARCHAEOLOGICALRESEARCH
Cleaningaroundthetombpriortothe
reconstructionandconservationproject
uncoveredmoreblocksfromthecollapsed
superstructureandidentifiedawalking
leveltothenorth,southandwestofthe
structure.Tislevelconsistedofalayer,
approximately0.10mthick,madeofpacked
sandandpiecesoflimestone.Itmatched
