Abstract:TispaperdiscussesthesimilaritiesbetweenTT358,TT320and,initssecondstage,
KV39.Intermsofbotharchitectureandgravegoods,itissuggestedthatthesethreetombswereall
madeforearlyEighteenthDynastyqueens.TatTT358wascarvedforAhmose-Meryetamunis
certain,whilstthesuggestionthatTT320wascutforAhmose-Nofretariisdefended.Althoughit
isnotcertainforwhomKV39mayhavebeendesigned,thesuggestionthatitwasAhmose-Inhapi
seemsplausible.

togetherasbelongingtothreequeensofthe
earlyEighteenthDynasty,themoresothat

Tisisindirectcontrasttotheviewsof,
amongothers,HerbertWinlock(1931),
ElizabethTomas(1966:170-202;1979:
90),JohnRomer(1976),NicholasReeves
(2003:69),andDylanBickerstale(2010:
31),whohaveallpointedoutthatboth
thearchitectureandlocationofTT320
isremarkablysimilartootherbabtombs
ascribedtothelateSeventeenthandearly
EighteenthDynastyqueens,and,aswe
shallsee,theyareremarkablysimilarin
bothplanandassociatedfinds.
Perhaps,however,itisnotsostrange
sinceallthreehave,atonepointoranother,
beendatedtothereignofAmenophisI,
