TheEU-Regulation561/2006fromthe15thofMarch2006,describestherest-
anddrivingperiodregulations(EC561/2006):
Adrivingperiodshallnotbelongerthan4.5hours,withoutabreak.
Afteradrivingperiodof4.5hoursthedriverhastotakearestofatleast
45minutes.
This45minutesbreakcanbetakenasaco-driverinthetravellingvehicle.
Ifthevehicleisbeingloadedorunloadedandthedriverknowsthetimeofthe
procedurebeforehand,theloading/unloadingtimecancountassuchabreak.
Adriverisallowedtodriveamaximumofninehoursperday(thistime
canbeextendedtotenhours,twiceaweek).Hehastotakeadailybreakof
atleast11hoursper24hourtimeframe.Heisnotallowedtotakethis11-
hour-breakasaco-driver,sohehaseithertosleepoutsidethevehicleor
inthestandingvehicle.
Thetotaldrivingtimewithintwoweeksshallnotexceed90hours.
TheservicefreuqencyofaRoRo-ferryservicefindsexpressioninthetransport
timeaswell:Thefrequencyisexpressedasanaveragewaitingtimeforaferry
service.Theaveragewaitingtimetfreqresultsfromagivenservicefrequencyand
canbecalculatedthroughthetimebetweentwoferrydepartures:
