machinelearning,thesayingthat’theworldisﬁlledwithdata’isalsoreﬂectedin

otherareasoflife.Onecansaythattheworldisalsoﬁlledwithtasksandprocesses

thatbecometoocomplexforhumanstodescribewithoutautomatedmodeling.The

methodsandalgorithmsproposedinchaptersofthisbookcanﬁndapplicationin

manyﬁeldsofscienceandindustry,thankstowhichtheycanhelpusadapttoa

constantlychangingworld.

Agoodexampleofmeetingthecurrentindustrialchallengesisthework’Model

basedschedulingalgorithmfortransportandassemblyofconstructionprocesses’

(chapter8).Theauthorsfocusonprocessoptimizinginthecontextofadaptingthem

tostrictlylimitedtimeframes,whichiscrucialwhencoordinatingindividualparts
