challengesposedbythedevelopmentoftechnology.However,thisbookincludes

alsochaptersfocusonmethodsofmoregeneralapplications,suchasthepattern

recognitionalgorithms.Theensembleclassiﬁcationmethodspresentedin’Archi-

tectureofDependency-NoiseEnsembleforstatistic-baseddiversiﬁcationofmultiple

classiﬁersystems’(chapter5)and’Anovelapproachtolearninganddesigning

neuralnetworks-basedensemble’(chapter7)focusonvariousapproachestoensure

thediversiﬁcationofweaklearnersintheclassiﬁerspoolarecharacterizedbyhigh

eńectivenessbothonsyntheticandrealdataproblems.

Ahighsignal-to-noiseratiomostoftencharacterizesrealprocessingenviron-

ments.Therefore,forpracticalapplications,optimalmodelingshouldbecharac-

terizedbyhighimmunitytosignaldisturbances.Suchsolutionsareproposedby

thework’Modelofactivenoisereductionsystemwithadaptiveﬁlteringalgorithms

appliedtoautomotive’(chapter6).Theauthorsanalyzeadaptiveﬁlterstodealwith

thenoisegeneratedbyacarengine.Amoreabstract,universalapproachisproposed

by’SchurParametrizationandOrthogonalModelingofP-StationarySecond-Order

StochasticProcesses’(chapter1),dedicatedtoprocessesthatoriginallyhavenon-

stationarycharacteristics.

ThiscollectionincludesalsoworksonthesubjectofSoftwarePerformance

EngineeringappearsinaworktryingtogeneratePalladioComponentModelson

thebasisofstandardPIMandPSMwithperformanceannotation.Anotherimportant

aspectbeingunderscopeofanalysispresentedherebyJarema(chapter9)isthe

modelingthedynamicsofopinionadaptingthestatisticalphysicsapproachleadingto

thepropositionwhichdescribesallinteractionsinthesystemdescribinginteractions

betweenagents.
