stressesthatinthiscontext,itisneitherAbichthimselfnorhisoriginal
achievementstowhichthemainattentionisbeingpaid.Instead,therea-
sonswhyAbichtisbeingmentionedareratherhisindirectcontribution
tothepreservationofKant)sphilosophicheritageandaproofofthesig-
nificanceofKantianphilosophy.Anotherreasonforwhichinthiscontext
Abichtdoesplayonlyasecondaryroleisthathebelongstooneoftheso
called“minors”-littleknownrepresentativesofhisepoch,whoseideas
maybeacknowledgedasapartoftheintellectualbackground,inwhich
betterknownthinkersdevelopedtheirconcepts.Terefore,theanalysisof
Abicht)sideas“canthusserveasastartingpointfortheinvestiga-
tionofsomemoreintricate,yetpossiblyquiteinterestingphilosophic
backgroundsoftheimportantthinkers.”17Tiscontextofthemodernre-
ceptionofAbicht)sphilosophymayoccurasthemostimportantonefrom
thepointofviewofstudiesonKantor,ingeneral,on18th-centuryphi-
losophy;however,itdoesnotcontributesignificantlytotheexamination
ofAbicht)soriginalaccomplishments.
TereareneverthelesstwofurtherdimensionsinwhichAbicht)sphi-
losophyismentionednowadays.18Itistobestressedthattheremarks
concerningAbichtaremostlyshortandgeneral,soonecannottalkabout
anythoroughexaminationofhisconcepts.Itdoesnotmean,however,
