Qualityisacharacteristicofaproduct,serviceorprocesswhichdecidesaboutits
usefulnessforaclientandhissatisfaction.
Qualityengineeringisafieldofscienceand,atthesametime,apracticaldo-
mainequippedwithawidesetofmethodsandtoolsusefulforobtaining,keeping
andimprovingeconomicallyreasonablequalityofproductsandservices.
Qualityengineeringhaspracticaluseinproductionengineering-notonlyin
theproductionarea,butalsoinpre-andpost-productionareas.Thisisbecause
qualityanalysisplaysanextremelyimportantroleduringdesignandresearchof
productmodernitylevel.Themainareaofscientificresearchonqualityisstill
aproductionenterprise.Theproductionzoneistraditionallyconsideredakeyone
forasociety’squalityoflife,determinedbythequalityofofferedproductsand
services.Accordingtothis,manufacturersareresponsiblefordesignandmanu-
facturingquality,andtheytargetalltheiractivitiesatobtainingoptimalquality.
Inthecenteroftheseactivitiesarefinalproductsandbasictechnologicalproc-
esses.Inthemanufacturingphase,researchshouldconcentrateonobtainingopti-
malqualityincertainproductioncircumstances,takingintoaccounteconomical
aspects,thatiscostsofquality.Intradeandselling,researchconcentrates,among
others,oncustomers’opinions,whichshouldprovideabasisforproductqual-
ityimprovement.Intherunningphase,itisimportanttocheckthefunctional
efficiencyandreliabilityoftechnicalobjects,serviceandmaintenance,which
providesabasisforfurtherqualityimprovementofcertainprocesses,products
orservices.Anapproachlikethisrequiresalsopropereducationofworkingand
manufacturingstaffinareasofquality-criteria-basedmanagement[28].
Qualityengineeringisasciencebasedonsystemandprocessapproach,which,
apartfromorientationtowardstheclient,arethemainrulesofqualitymanage-
ment.Everyenterpriseofaspecificsystemofareasandactivities(processes)
connectedtoeachothercreatesalogicallycoherententity.Aprocessisanactiv-
ityorasetofactivitiesdefinedinaprocedureorinstructionconvertingtheinput
state(inputfactor)totheoutputstate(outputfactor)togetherwithafeedbackloop
