0nlyitsnorthernpart,witharowofrooms(L14,
L15,L16,L17,L18),hasbeenuncovered.Totheeast,
amudbrickplatformassociatedwithPhaseCabut-
tedroomL14.Becausetheplatform’sfoundation
levelhasnotbeenreached,itisnotcertainwheth-
ertheplatformmaybeassociatedwithHouse3.
RoomL14hasdimensionsof1.6x2.5m[Fig.3.31].
ThewallsofroomL14(W36,W37)havesurvived
toaheightof1.25m,includingthebuttressesin
theupperpart.Moreorlessinthemiddleofthe
room,therewasamudbrickstepwhichdividedthe
roomintotwopartsthatdifferintheheightofthe
floorlevel:thenorthernpartwassituatedca.0.15-
0.20mhighercomparedtothepartlocatedsouth.
The0.36m-widestepwasmadeofasinglelayerof
mudbricks.Thefaceofthemudbrickstepwascov-
eredwithathicklayerofmudplaster.
TheentrancetoroomL14wasinthesouthern
wallW36[Fig.3.32].Itwasca.0.5mwide.The
samewall,rightbytheentrance,featuredanarch-
shapedbuttress.Asimilarbuttresswassituatedon
theeasternwallW37.Thebuttresseswereadded
ontotheupperpartofthewalls,moreorlessat
aheightof0.75mabovethefloorlevel.Thebut-
tresses’dimensionsare25x26cmandtheyhave
survivedtoaheightofca.0.32m.Thebuttresses
presumablysupportedtheroom’sceilingbeams.
Boththebuttressesandthewallsoftheroomwere
coveredwithathicklayerofmudplaster(ca.5cm
thick)ontowhichwhiteplasterwasapplied.
Almosttheentirespaceinthenorthernpart
ofroomL14wastakenupbyastoragebin(0.5m
high)madeupoftwochambersintheshapeofthe
letterU.Theca.4cm-thickwallsofthestoragebin
weremadeofclaycoveredwithwhiteplaster.The
storagebinwasbuiltdirectlyonthefloor,covered
withwhiteplaster,whichisalsothebottomofthe
container.
Themainfeatureinthesouthernpartofroom
L14wasaheatingpit(HP5)builtrightbythewest-
ernwallW34.Thepitis0.34mindiameterandca.
0.20mdeep.Thepit,initsupperpart,hasbeen
carefullytiledwithcrushedpotteryinclaymortar.
Similarmortarwasappliedonthesurfacetocreate
a10cm-wide“collar”aroundthepit.Thebottomof
thepitwascoatedwithathicklayerofclay.Aflat-
tenedjarwasfoundrightnexttothepit.Several
floorlevels,madeofthicklayersofwhiteplaster
wereidentifiedinthesouthernpartoftheroom.
ThefloorlevelofroomL14yieldedaMetallicWare
cupandasmallbowl.
Immediatelywest,roomL14wasabuttedby
twosmallerroomsL15andL16.RoomL15may
