uncoveredinthisroom.
NorthofroomL20,therewasroomL21
destroyedtoalargeextentbythepit.Thesouth-
easterncornercontainedavessel(itsbottompart
hassurvived)andaclusterofstones.Thevessel,
partiallyframedwithsherdsjammedinvertical-
ly,wasinstalledpermanentlyinclaymortar.The
stonesincludedabasaltgrinder.Judgingfrom
thediscoveredremains,L21wasprobablyautility
room.

ofHouse5lookedlike.Anopenairspace(L26)was
probablylocatedhere.
MainroomL22hasdimensionsof2.9x3.3m.
Ahearth(H12)wasfoundinit,shapedasarectan-
glewithroundedcorners,builtofclaymixedwith
gravel.Inthenorth-westerncornerofroomL22,
awastevesselwaslocated,usedasapermanentin-
stallation.RoomL22yielded3cylinderseals,abone
pin,abonependant,9bowlsand2miniaturejars.
RoomL22wasseparatedfromroomL23with
0.40m-widewallW52.Thisnarrowroom,with
awidthof0.7m,yieldedaflatstonewitharound
dent,whileitsnorthernpartfeaturedapotteryves-
sel(basewithadiameterof0.40m).Intheopen
airspace(L26),northofroomsL22andL23,there
wasacircularorsemicircularhearth(H13)(only
afragmenthassurvived),builtofclaymixedwith
gravelandframedwithmudbricks.Itwasassociat-
edwithanearlierusagelevelofL26.
ThesouthernpartofHouse5featuredelongat-
edroomL24(1.4x4.0m)whichmayhaveserved
asakitchen[Fig.3.39].Itsentrywaywaslocated
inthewesternwall,ontheyardside.Thekitchen
yieldedfireinstallationsandpotteryvessels.Two
usagelevelsofkitchenL24canbedistinguished.In
theearlierphaseasmallovenoftannurtype(012)
(0.35x0.40cm)waslocatedinthenorth-eastern
corneroftheroom.Neartheoven,therewereverti-
callyanddiagonallylaidmudbricks,mostprobably
partoftheoven’scasing.Thesouthernpartofthe
kitchenyieldedfourbowlslyingupsidedownin
alayerofashes.Inthesouth-westerncornerofthe
kitchen,twoarrow-fenestratedpotstandshave
survivedinsitu,associatedwiththekitchen’slater
