impact,indicatingthatthebroadlyunderstoodtourismeconomyinvolvesmanyother
sectorsoftheeconomy,whichcontributessignificantlytoregionalandlocaldevel-
opment.Tedevelopmentoftourismandachievingpositiveeńectsfromtourismis
primarilysupportedbythepossessionoftourismassetsandattractions.However,
tofullyabsorbthem,itisnecessarytocreateinnovationsinenterprisesandtourism
regions,becauseinnovationsbelongtothebasicsourcesofobtainingcompetitive
advantages.Animportantcontemporarychallengeistheintegrationandcoher-
enceofgoalsdefinedfortourismandinnovation.Tisdependenceresultsfromthe
factthateachentitywantingtodevelopandcompeteintheglobalmarketneeds
innovation.Ineconomicpractice,innovativequalitiesareprimarilyattributedto
productionsectorsoftheeconomy.Terefore,intheeraofasignificantimpact
oftourismontheeconomy,itisimportanttoidentifyinnovationsintourism
andtoindicatetheconditionsofinnovationmanagementintourismenterprises.
Creatinginnovationintourismmeanscreatingnewtourismproducts,
processes,informationsystemsandotherformsofinnovation.Inordertoachieve
theeńectsofinnovationprocessesintourism,itbecomesnecessaryforpublic
support,whichshouldconcernnewknowledge,increasetheeńectivenessof
innovationandlinksbetweenthemainmarketplayers(Stawasz2009).Inorderto
stimulatethetransfer,commercializationanddińusionofnewknowledgetothe
tourismeconomy,importanttasksarealsoattributedtoinstitutionssupporting
thedevelopmentofinnovationintourism.Tesetasksincludemainlyresearchand
developmentactivities,consulting,training,informationandpromotionalactivities.
Temainsubjectofinfluenceareenterprises,especiallysmallandmedium-
sizedtourism(Buhalis&Cooper1998),whichbeartheriskofinnovation.Te
factorconditioningtheinnovationoftheseenterprisesisprimarilythecreation
ofaclimatefavourabletoinnovationintheirenvironment.Itisimportantto
supportthedevelopmentoftheirinternalresources,becausethereisaclose
relationshipbetweenentrepreneursandtheircreativityandinnovationasaresult
oftheseentrepreneurialfeatures.
Tisscientificmonographisofbothatheoreticalandempiricalnature,
andthetopicspresentedinitconcerninnovationinvestigatedinthecontextof
considerationsontheenterpriseandtourism.Undertakingthissubjectisjustified
bytheneedtotransferthecurrentknowledgeinthefieldofinnovationtothe
tourismsectorattheleveloftourismenterprisesandentitiescreatingtourism
productslocatedintheenvironmentoftheseenterprises.
