Myaimisnottogiveanexhaustivetreatmentofthesubject,whichisex-
tensive,buttointroducesomekeyconceptsthatcan,Ibelieve,advanceour
understandingofthemoregeneralquestionofwhyChristinewouldhave
decidedtoassumesuchanextensiveroleintheproductionofthemanu-
scriptsofhertexts.TheAlbumChristinedePizancounts54manuscriptsthat
