4.Analyzeofthechangesofthetouristfunction,whichtookplaceinthe
studiedareasafterthefallofthesocialistsystem:
a)changesinthetouristinfrastructureandaccessibility,
b)transformationsoftheurbanspace,whichcouldhaveinfluenced
touristphenomena,
c)changesinthetouristtraffic.
5.Constructingamodeloftransformationsinurbantourism,whichhave
beentakingplaceinthepost-socialistcitiesofCentralandEastern
Europeoverthelast20years.
Theanalysispresentedinthisbookfeaturesanumberofresearch
methods.AccordingtoRunge(2007),theymaybedefinedas“…typical
andrepeatablewaysofcollecting,processing,analyzingandinterpreting
empiricaldata,servingthepurposeoffindingwell-foundedanswerstothe
posedquestions”(Cudnyetal.2011,p.25).Themethodscanbedivided
accordingtotheiruniversalityintogeneral(universal)anddetailed,
accordingtothewayphenomenaarepresented-intoquantitativeand
qualitative,andaccordingtotheplacewheretheyareused-intofieldwork
anddataprocessing(Cudnyetal.2011,p.29).Theauthorsofthisbookused
avarietyofdetailedresearchmethods,commonlyappliedingeographical
andhistoricalstudies.Amongothertechniques,theyusedobservationand
thehistoricalmethod(chronologicalanalysisoffacts).Researchmaterials
wereobtainedfromliterature,Internetsourcesandsurveysconducted
atinstitutionsandoffices.Moreover,theauthorsmadeuseoftheresults
oftheirownpublishedandunpublishedstudies.
Theeditorsofthisbookdecidedthateachchapterwouldbewrittenby
adifferentspecialistinagivenarea.Thechoiceoftheauthorsdependednot
onlyontheirtheoreticalknowledgeofthestudiedphenomena;theyalso
knowtheareaofstudyanditstransformationsfromthepracticalside.The
authorsinvitedtocontributetothebookhavebeenconductingtheirown
studiesintheareasdescribedinthebookformanyyears,ortheyare
workingattourisminstitutions.Thebookconsistsofeightchapters,thefirst
ofwhichistheintroduction,presentingthetheoreticalassumptionsofthe
publication.Secondchapterpresentsthehistoricaloverviewofthe
transformationsintheformersocialistcountriesinEurope.Itiswrittenby
