Non-naturalassets-createdbyman(cultural,anthropogenic):
-
formasstourism,e.g.archeologicalexcavations,historicalsacral
buildings,
fortifications
and
residences,
urban-architectural
complexes,tourismandrecreationresorts,museums,galleries,sitesof
religiouscult,folk,culturalandentertainmentfacilities;
-forqualifiedtourism,e.g.museumsorgalleries(Kowalczyk2007,
p.88).
Asregardsthewaytouristassetsareusedbytourists,wemay
distinguishbetweenthefollowingtypes:
a)recreationalassets-theyservethepurposeofphysicalandmental
regeneration(sea,beach,lakes,mountains,forest,etc.),
b)sightseeingassets-theyareconnectedwithvisitingandcuriosity
(caves,
monuments
of
nature,
national
and
landscape
parks,
monadnocks,castles,palaces,shrines,cemeteries,antiquetechnology,
etc.)
c)specialistassets-theyenablepeopletodoqualifiedtourism,i.e.such
thatrequiresspecialisttraining,equipment,licenses,etc.(fishingassets
-lakes,rivers,ponds;huntingassets-forests,sailingassets-lakes,
bays,openseas,etc.).
Wemayalsodistinguish:
1.Siteassets-climate,landscape,history,etc.Inthiscasetheareaitself
isthemainmotivationtotravel.
2.Eventassets-festivals,sportsevents,fairs,etc.Inthiscaseaneventis
themainmotivationtotravel(Kaczmarek,Stasiak,Włodarczyk2010,
p.55).
Asregardstheconceptoftouristinfrastructure,itincludes“those
elementswhichsecuretheproperfunctioningofthetouristdestination.
Touristinfrastructurestrengthensorsupplementstouristassets(touristtrails,
swimmingpools,sportsfacilities,hotelsoforiginalarchitecture,etc.).
Touristinfrastructureisalsoreferredtoas“thematerialbaseoftourism”
(Kaczmarek,Stasiak,Włodarczyk2010,p.55),andincludesthefollowing:
1.Accommodationfacilities-hotelsandotherbuildingsofthistype
(e.g.motels,pensions),shelters,sanatoria,“secondhouses”,guest
rooms,campingsitesandothermanagedfacilities.
2.Cateringfacilities-independentoutlets,aswellasthosewhichare
apartofaccommodationfacilities(bars,pubs,restaurants,cafes,tea-
rooms,pizzerias,beer-houses,wine-houses,etc.)
3.Auxiliaryfacilities-theirbasicroleistoprovidetouristservices(they
werebuiltwithtouristsinmind)-swimmingpools,bathingwaters,
sportsequipmentrentals,piersandsailingvillages,skilifts,pump-
rooms,observationdecks,picnicareas,etc.
