The1995amendmentsenteredintoforceon1February1997iOneofthemajor
featuresoftherevisionwasthedivisionofthetechnicalannexintoregulations,di-
videdintoChaptersasbefore,andanewSTCWCode,towhichmanytechnicalregu-
lationsweretransferrediPartAoftheCodeismandatorywhilePartBisrecom-
mendediTheregulationscontainedintheConventionaresupportedbysectionsin
theSTCWCodei
TheManilaamendmentstotheSTCWConventionandCodewereadoptedon
June25,2010,markingamajorrevisionoftheSTCWConventionandCodeiThe2010
amendmentsaresettoenterintoforceon1January2012underthetacitacceptance
procedureandareaimedatbringingtheConventionandCodeuptodatewithdevel-
opmentssincetheywereinitiallyadoptedandtoenablethemtoaddressissuesthat
areanticipatedtoemergeintheforeseeablefuturei
