1.Deafbasketballinliterature
Szulc(2020)testedgroupconsistedofdeafmaleandfemalenational
teamfootballersofthePolishDeafSportsAssociation,agedatleast18
years,withahearinglossexceeding55decibels.Tereferencegroupswere
recruitedfromthefollowinghearingmalefootballteams:ZawiszaByd-
goszcz(Ekstraklasa),WdaŚwiecie(IIIliga,Kujawy-Pomerania-Greater
Poland),andChemikBydgoszcz(IVliga,Kujawy-Pomerania),aswellas
fromthehearingfemalefootballteamofKKPBydgoszcz(femaleextra-
leagueandfemaleIIliga).Tecontrolgroupsalsoincludedphysically
inactivestudentsoftheSchoolandEducationCentreNo.2inBydgoszcz
forDeafandHard-of-HearingChildrenandAdolescentsagedatleast18
years.Instudyweremadeanthropometricmeasurements.Evaluatedof
kneejointextensorsandflexorsforcevariables.Evaluatedofkinematicand
kineticvariablesinjumpingabilitytests.Evaluatedofspeedabilities,years
oftrainingandhearinglossandlaterality.
SzulcandSandurska(2021)madeanattemptofidentifedthesitu-
ationalfactorsofagamewhich(a)mightańectthevictoryordefeatin
thegame;(b)werecommonformatchesplayedinatournamentforthe
hearingordeaf,includingmatcheswonorlost.Teanalysisincluded37
matchesofnationaldeafteams(5thWorldDeafBasketballChampionships,
Poland)and92matchesofnationalhearingteams(18thBasketballWorld
Cup,China).Duringbothtournaments,thematchesplayedweredivided
intowonandlost.Wealsopresentedanalysesconcerning31gamesitu-
ationalvariablesrelatedtotheperformanceofnationalbasketballteams
atbothevents.Allsituationalvariablesweresubjecttostatisticalanalysis,
includingcalculationoftheirmeansandstandarddeviations,anddeter-
minationofminimumandmaximum.Discriminantanalysiswasper-
formed,too.Teanalysesshowednostatisticallysignificantdińerencesin
almostallgameaspectsbetweenmatcheswonbydeafandhearingbas-
ketballplayers.Statisticallysignificantdińerencesinsituationalvariables
wereobservedbetweenmatcheswonduringthe5thWorldDeafBasketball
Championshipsandmatcheslostduringthe18thBasketballWorldCup.
Tediscriminantanalysisallowedtodeterminethesituationalvariables
thatańectedthewinningorlosingofagame:missedshotsfor2or3points,
freethrows,defensiveandońensiverebounds,aswellasassists,steals,and
turnovers.Aclassificationmatrixindicated21resultsofdirectmatchcom-
petitionsachievedbydeafteams(winningandlosing),whichallowedto
