INTRODUCTION
Intherecentyearscompanieshavebeenfacedwithagrowingneedtofo-
cusmoreoftheirattentiononcreativityandinnovationinordertokeepupwith
increasedglobalcompetition.Organizationalcreativityandinnovationare
enhancedthroughtheintroductionofcomputersupportsystems.Thisbook
isdedicatedtoexploringissuesrelatedtosupportingcreativityandinnovation
withinformationtechnology,andcontains16articlesselectedfordeliveryatthe
firstinternationalsessionoftheCSSinthe26thConferenceonOrganizational
SupportSystems.Thetheme–creativitysupportsystems(CSS)–isarather
novelone.TheproblemofbuildingCSSinvolvestheproblemofbuilding
acreativeorganizationandislocatedintheareaofinterdisciplinaryresearch.
Arichvarietyofmethodsandtechniquesareusedtoachievethis,many
ofwhicharediscussedinourbook.
Inthefirstpaperofthisbook,theauthorspresentsomeselectedmethods
thatcouldbeusedforwebsiteevaluationandcomparison.Thisresearchin-
volvesmulti-attributeapproach.Inthenextpaper,theauthorsconcentrateon
theissueoflearningobjectsandvirtualplatformsforeducation,andconcludes
that“[…]awell-configuredvirtualeducationsystemcanbeoneofthemost
importantelementsofaknowledgemanagementsystem”.Thefirstpartofthe
thirdpaperjustifiestacitknowledgeasaresourcefororganizations,whileits
secondpartfocusesontheimpactoftacitknowledgeonvariousvaluecreation
models,viz.Porter’svaluechain,ValueshopandValuenetwork.Thefourth
articleentitled“TheRoleofKnowledgeManagementandLearningofCom-
paniesinInnovationProcesses”indicatesthat“[…]therespondentsfromre-
searchcompaniesunderstandthatcooperationofcompanieswithpartnersand
consumersgeneratesasynergyeffectduringknowledgemanagementand
mutuallearningininnovationprocesseswhichareexecutedwithintheframe-

visualdesignaidedbycomputerconsistingofthreekeyconcepts:adesigntask,
