Introduction
Websitesinfluencetheorganizations’image.Theyfulfilltheinformation
rolemainly,buttheyalsosupportcommunicationbetweentheenterpriseandits
environment(liketransactionservices,educationwebsitesetc.).Thewaythe
usersevaluatesuchwebsitesisveryimportant,sinceitinfluencesthepotential
demandforthegoodsandservicesofferedbythewebsiteowner.Thetheoryof
businessnegotiationsaysthatthefirst-impressioneffectandbehavioralaspects
relatedtothecounterpartperceptioninfluencenotonlythenegotiationprocess
butalsothefinalagreementandthebusinesscontractitself(andconsequently
thepotentialincomeoftheenterprise)[LSMi99].Itisimportantthentodesign
thewebsitearchitecturethatwouldbeinteresting(architecturallyandvisually),
userfriendlyandpositivelyperceivedbyitsusers.
Whileevaluatingthequalityofourwebsiteitisgoodtocompareitwith
thewebsitesofourmajorcompetitors.Wecanfindourpositionintheranking
andidentifythefeaturesofthewebsitethatshouldbeimproved.Therefore
weshouldknowhowtodosuchacomparison,beingawarethatthefinalusers
maycomparetheminaverysimilarway.Buildingsucharankingmayalso
haveapromotionalcharacter,showingthepotentialclientshowgoodourweb-
siteiswhencomparedwiththecompetitors.
Inthispapertheauthorspresentsomeselectedmethodsthatcouldbe
usedforwebsitesevaluationandcomparison.Sincesuchanevaluationinvolves
theanalysisofmultitudeattributeswefocusedonafewmultipleattributede-
cisionmaking(MCDM)modelsofvariousfundamentals.Themajorgoalofthis
workistosummarizeandsynthesizetheapproachesformulti-criteriaevalu-
ationofthewebsites,thatcouldhelptheirowners,designersandmaintainers
withtheidentificationofthequalityoftheirsystems.Theauthorsalsotryto
pointouttheadvantagesanddisadvantagesofthedifferentmethods.
