tothefirstapproachasaritualorcustomexpressingsharedvalues,andalsoas
ameansofconfirmingandpreservinggroupidentity[Throsby2010,p.20].
Thediversityofdefinitionsanddifferentinterpretationsoccuralsoin
theconceptoflnationalculture’whichadditionallyisusedbysomeauthors
interchangeablywiththetermlculture’.Thusitshouldbepointedoutthateven
inthe19thcenturythistermwaslimitedtospecificcommunitiesamongwhich
therewerenation-states.Withoutdoubt,nationsandethnicgroupsconstitute
significantentitiesinculture.M.Bartosik-Purgatstatesthateveryperson
inpossessionofhis/herownpersonalculturecreatesthecultureofhis/her
nation.Thismeansthatnationalculturebecomesthesetofpersonalculturesof
individualmembersofthesociety[Bartosik-Purgat2006,p.14].

ofthinkingacquiredandtransmittedmainlythroughsymbolswhicharethe
creationsofgroupsofpeopleandincludesubstantiationintheformofartefacts

material,linguisticandbehavioural.Materialartefactsaretangiblecreations
ofagivensocietyandnationalculture,amongthemartandarchitecture.
Itcanbeassumedthattheyconstitutetheso-calledmaterialcultureofanation.
Linguisticartefactsmeanalanguageusedbymembersofagivencommunity.
Theyalsoincludemythsandlegendsofthisculturepassedonfromgeneration
togeneration.Behaviouralartefactsrefertocertainmodesofbehavioursuchas
