spectandrecognitionordominationarealsodecisiveinwhether
apersonhasagreaterorsmallertendencytogetinvolvedincontacts
withothers.Thevaluesystemhasaparticularlyimportantroletoplay,
particularlytherankthatsocialvalueshaveinthem,whichmaymoti-
vateapersontohaveanactivepartinfurtheringthecommongood,as
wellasleadingandorganisingprosocialactions.Itisworthnoticing
thatthesetypesofmotivatorscanactalmostagainsttemperamental
inhibitorsincliningtowardssocialactivityapersonwhowouldother-
wisehasasmallneedforstimulation,thustheycompensatethedisad-
vantageoussystemsoftemperamenttraitsunderconsiderationinthis
article(cf.Martowska,2009).Ontheotherhand,agreatneedfor
stimulationdoesnotguaranteeaninclinationtowardsgettinginvolved
insocialactivitybecauseitcanbesatisfiedinotherways;antisocial
activitycanalsobeastrongsourceofstimulation.Thus,thetendency
toundertakeprosocialbehavioursisdependentontheinteractionof
variousdifferenttemperamentandpersonalityvariables.
Apartfromtheneedsandvaluesdeterminingtheattractivenessof
contactswithothersandtheimportancethatsocialgoalshaveforin-
dividuals,thesubjectiveprobabilityofsuccessinsocialactionsalso
hasanimpactoninvolvementinactivity.Itdependsontheself-evalu-
ationconcerningthepossibilityofcopingincertainsocialsituations
aswellasageneralisedbeliefinone’sownachievementthatisde-
scribedinliteraturewiththeuseofsuchtermsasalocusofcontrol,
aself-efficacyorthehopeforsuccess.
Therefore,suchindividualpropertiesastemperamenttraits,hierar-
chyofneedsandvalues,self-evaluationandasenseofagencyinflu-
encethetendencytoundertakecontactswithotherstherebyproviding
socialtraining.However,evenwithequallyintensivetraining,there-
sultsobtainedbydifferentpersonscanvaryinsizeandextent.Abili-
tiesareresponsibleforthesedifferences;inthecaseofsocialtraining
underconsiderationherein,thisaboveallconcernssocialandemo-
tionalabilitiesthatconstitutesocialoremotionalintelligence.These
abilitiesenableareflectiveuseoftrainingandfacilitatethetransferof
