.Thepostmodernistculture(orthepostmodernone),

forwhichtherearenoaxioms,thusrejectsallthathasbeenincontrovertible,

trueandcertainsofar.Itrejects,forinstance,theconceptofhumansexual-

ityandasaconsequenceitssense.6Itrejectstheveryconceptofmarriage.

Challengingthepurposeofsexualityiscurrentlyaccomplishedwithin

theso-calledideaof“gender.”Wecanclaimthatitexpressesitselfin

athesisinwhichnothingresultsfromnaturebutisasocial-culturalprod-

uct.Sexisthen,amatterofchoice.Onthegroundsofthusselectedsex,

onecanbuildanycombinedconﬁgurationsandrelationshipswhichone

strivestoattributetheroleofmarriageto.Theideaortheideologyof

“gender”arisesthenasasignofobjectiontothehitherto,traditional

culturerecognizingbiologicalsexanditsnaturalrolesandfunctions.The

traditionalmodel,intheopinionoffollowersof“gender”ideologyand

feminism,isthesourceofviolenceinthefamily

,orinotherwords,the

sourceofoppression.TheCouncilofEuropeConventiononpreventing

andcombatingviolenceagainstwomenanddomesticviolence,signedin

December2012bythePolishgovernment,containsanarticlementioning

thatitiscompulsorytoﬁghttradition:“Partiesshalltakethenecessary

measurestopromotechangesinthesocialandculturalpatternsofbehav-

iourofwomenandmenwithaviewtoeradicatingprejudices,customs,

traditionsandallotherpracticeswhicharebasedontheideaoftheinfe-

riorityofwomenoronstereotypedrolesforwomenandmen.”7

JohnPaulIIinhisEvangeliumVitaeencyclicalpointedataphenomenonthat

liesatthefoundationofthecurrentchaosandconfusioncreatedbyvariousideologies

—homosexual,transsexualandtheideologyofgender:“Withinthissameculturalcli-

mate,thebodyisnolongerperceivedasaproperlypersonalreality,asignandplaceof

relationswithothers,withGodandwiththeworld.Itisreducedtopuremateriality:it

issimplyacomplexoforgans,functionsandenergiestobeusedaccordingtothesole

criteriaofpleasureandemciency.Consequently,sexualitytooisdepersonalizedand

exploited:frombeingthesign,placeandlanguageoflove,thatis,ofthegiftofselfand

acceptanceofanother,inalltheother’srichnessasaperson,itincreasinglybecomesthe

occasionandinstrumentforself-assertionandtheselﬁshsatisfactionofpersonaldesires

andinstincts.Thustheoriginalimportofhumansexualityisdistortedandfalsiﬁed,and

thetwomeanings,unitiveandprocreative,inherentintheverynatureoftheconjugal

act,areartiﬁciallyseparated:inthiswaythemarriageunionisbetrayedanditsfruitful-

nessissubjectedtothecapriceofthecouple.Procreationthenbecomesthe<enemy’to

beavoidedinsexualactivity:ifitiswelcomed,thisisonlybecauseitexpressesadesire,

orindeedtheintention,tohaveachild<atallcosts’,andnotbecauseitsigniﬁesthecom-

pleteacceptanceoftheotherandthereforeanopennesstotherichnessoflifewhichthe
