1.4.3.Thegeneralmodelofrealitytransformation
Themostabstractandgeneralcategorywhichcanbereconstructedonthebasis
oftheÇgvedictextisageneralmodelofrealitytransformation.Itshowshowreality
iscreatedandhowthefunctionoftheworldandhumanbeingscanbetransformed
intoasimpleschemaofalternatetransformationsofAgniandSoma.Inthismodel,
theconceptsofAgniandSomaarealmostdevoidoftheirconcretesemanticlayers
offireandplant/juiceandoftheirgodheadandratherrefertotheopposingaspects
ofinternallycontradictoryreality.Thismanifestsitselfincreation,inprocessesof
theworld(sunriseandraining)andintheactivityofthehumanbeings(ritualand
cognition)34.Themodeloperatesonlyconceptuallyandisneverexpressedinwords
explicitlybutisimpliedbythewayvariousprocessesandphenomenaarepresented
intheRV
,bothbythedefiningeventsandphilosophicalmodels.

Holisticconceptscanbeseenastheimportantstageindevelopmentofgeneral
conceptsinthattheyarebasedontheimplicitassumptionofsimilaritybetween
elementstowhichtheyrefer35.Holisticconceptsarenotonlybuiltviapolysemic
extensionofthesemanticrangeoflinguisticitemsbutalsothroughconceptual
blending.
