Introduction

Teissueofhealthconstitutesacrucialelementofreﬂectionsoverbothhu-

manconditionandcontemporaryworld.Itsigniﬁcantlyembracestheaxiological

spheresofmeanings,withregardtowhichtheindividualdoesnotonlycarryout

theprocessofselfidentity,butalsodetermineslifeprioritieswhichaccomplish-

mentrequiressocialengagement.Inconsequence,thecategoryofhealthmanifest

itselfinvariousspheres–subjective,social,cultural,civic,economicorlastbut

notleast–educational.Hence,thereﬂectionstacklingthistopicbecomeaninter-

disciplinarydiscourse,sinceexercisedintheﬁledofmedicine,sociology,psychol-

ogy,pedagogy,educationaswellaseconomy,politicalscienceandeventechnical

disciplines.

Itshouldbealsoemphasizedthatinthecontextofﬁndingsestablishedwithin

WorldHealthDeclarationandactionstrategiesintheEuropeanRegionofWHO

HealthforAllin21stcentury,healthisperceivedasindividualvaluebutalsoas

aformofacapitalcruciallyinﬂuencingthedevelopmentdynamicsofentiresocie-

ties.Terefore,inthisperspectivereachingoptimalhealthconditionbecomesone

ofinalienable,individualrights,withtheresponsibilityforindividualandsocial

healthasoneofcivicduties,embracingaswellthesphereofgovernmentalpoli-

cies.

Takingtheaboveintoconsideration,itisimpossiblenottoappreciatetherole

playedbyhealtheducation,directedatshapingpro-healthattitudes,enablingthe

establishmentofsocialcapitalofhealth.Hence,suchpedagogicaldiscourseplac-

inghealthinheartofitsattentionshallbeconsideredimportantinthecontextof

prioritiesofcontemporaryworld.
