Basedonthesurvey,10organizationswereselectedandqualifiedfor
thenextstageofthestudy,conductedbymeansofin-depthinterview
usingapartiallystructuredinterviewquestionnaire.Terespondents
werepeopleperformingkeyfunctionsintheorganization.Interviews
wereconducteddirectlyinorganizationsbyauditorsselectedaspartof
theResearchTeam.Inthethirdstageofthestudy,reportswereprepared
usingadditionalmaterialsmadeavailablebytherespondentsrelatedto
theorganization’sactivities.Asaresult,tendetailedreportswerecre-
ated.Tegroupofentitiessurveyedincluded9associationsandone
foundation,operatingindińerentareasofactivity.Amongthem,4or-
ganizationsdealingwithsocialassistanceforsociallyexcludedpeople
andrequiringsupport,2organizationsprovidingservicesinthefieldof
healthcare,andoneineachofthefollowingareas:consulting,preven-
tivemedicine,activitiesforsportforyouthandadults,activityonthe
artmarket,andconsultinginthemanagementofanNGO.Tiswork
isanattempttopresenttheconditionofmodernNGOsinthelightof
componentsofmanagementmodelsandtoindicatethedirectionof
organizationalchangebasedontheoreticalfoundationsandtoolsfor
thedevelopmentoftheorganization.
InPartOne-Professionalizationasadevelopmentdirectionof
NGOs-JoannaSchmidtconsidersprofessionalizationanddevelop-
mentofnon-governmentalorganizationsinmanycountrieswiththe
specialfocusonthePolishcontext.Stagesoflife-cycleofNPOandits
evolutionarydevelopmentpathwaysareanalysedaswell.Basedonem-
piricalstudy,thisanalysisprovidesauthorshipevaluationofsuccessful
professionalisationfeaturesandstressestheneedtointroducechanges
toovercomeprobablecrisis.
