decisionsthataremutuallyconditioning.Itis,interalia,inconnection
withthisthatmanyorganizationshavestoodatthecrossroadsbetween
traditionalthinkingderivedfromtheprinciplesofsocialethicsand
alternativethinkingorientedonmodernmarketprocesses.Tisinev-
itablyleadstoachangeintheperspectiveofthinkingaboutmanage-
mentanditsrationality.Issuesincludedinthispublicationcoverthe
mostimportantareasoftheorganization’soperationandindicatethe
needforitsdeepprofessionalisation.Tismonographistheresultof
theworkoftheResearchTeamfortheManagementofNon-govern-
mentalorganizationsoperatingatthePoznańUniversityofEconom-
ics.Itistheanswertoanumberofdilemmasrelatedtotheactivitiesof
non-governmentalorganizationsinthecontemporaryrealitiesofthe
thirdsector.Testudywasconductedinthethirdquarterof2018.Its
maineńectwastoselectthebest-managednon-governmentalorgani-
zationinGreaterPolandinthecontextofitssustainabledevelopment.
Testudywasathree-stepprocess.Inthefirststage,asurveywas
conductedconsistingof26questions,mostlyofanopennature,regard-
ingselectedaspectsoftheorganization’sfunctioning:relationswithits
team,cooperationwiththeexternalenvironment,strategy,volunteer-
ingandfinancing.Tesurveywassentto2,000NGOsinGreaterPo-
land,availableinthedatabasesofthePoznańCityHallandthePoznań
PoviatLocal-Government,aswellasinonlinedatabasesofstarosties
andpoviatofcesoftheGreaterPolandvoivodship.Temailingcon-
cernedonlythoseorganizationsthatshowedane-mailaddressinthe
databases.Tereturnfromtheserverwasabout80-100surveysdueto
anincorrectornon-existentemailaddress.Inaddition,inordertoob-
tainmoresurveys,arequestwassenttothePoznańCityHall,Poznań
poviatstarostes,thengo.plportaland5SocialEconomySupportCent-
ersfromGreaterPoland,aswellastootherentitiesthatassociateNGOs
ormaintainpermanentcontactorcooperationwiththem,toinform
