1.Introduction
Teproperfunctioningoftheminingindustrydepends,interalia,onthe
selectiveuseofmineralresources,whichdirectlyańectsthequalityofthe
productobtainedandtheamountofwastegeneratedintheprocessing
process.Determiningthechemicalcompositionofrocksanddetermining
thedegreeoftheirmineralizationisakeyelementintheproperprocessof
extractingusefulminerals.Techemicalcompositionofrockscanbeex-
aminedusingchemicalmethodsandinstrumentalanalyzes,theformerof
whichrequirepriorpreparationofsamplesfortesting,andthelatter-the
determinationofthechemicalcomposition-istime-consuming.Instru-
mentalmethodscanbeanalyzedmuchfaster.Tesemethodsinclude,in-
teralia,spectroscopic,optical,electrochemical,resolving,andradiometric
methods1.However,itshouldberememberedthatthesensitivityofthese
methodsmaybelower,andthedeterminationofthecontentofingredients
isindirect2.Currently,themostfrequentlyusedmethodisX-rayfluorescence
analysis(XRF),butitrequirespriorpreparationofsamples,e.g.powdering
orgrinding3.Amethodthatisincreasinglyusedtodeterminethechemi-
calcompositionofmaterialsislaser-inducedplasmaspectroscopy(LIBS).
Amongthenumerousadvantages,thefollowingoptionsdeserveattention:
conductingmeasurementsonsamplesineveryaggregatestate,performing
measurementsbothinthelaboratoryandinsituinrealtime,operatingin
theso-called"calibration-free"mode,withouttheneedtoapplycalibration
