ofexploitation.
2.Researchmethodology
Laser-inducedplasmaspectroscopyisamethodthatiswidelyusedinde-
terminingthequalitativeandquantitativecompositionofsamplesineach
stateofaggregation.Itisanon-invasiveresearchmethod,andthesmall
sizecraters(averagefrom0.1to10mm,depthfrom0.1to10µm)13thatare
formedduringthemeasurementsareofnoimportanceforrocksminedon
anindustrialscale.
TeLIBStechniqueconsistsinfocusingahigh-powerlaserpulseusing
afocusinglensonthesurfaceofthetestsampleandgeneratingplasmaby
themeansoflaserradiationonthesample.Itisassumedthattheintensityof
theradiationneededtogeneratetheplasmashouldexceedatleast0.1GW/
cm2,Tefocusedbeamofapulsedlasercausesalocaltemperatureincrease,
andthenasmallamountofthematerialmeltsandevaporates,andcauses
itsionization(ablation).Asaresultoftheevaporationofthematerialand
thesurroundingatmosphere,aplasmawithatemperatureof103-105Kis
formed14.Atsuchahightemperature,atomsandionsareexcitedandemit
intenselinearandcontinuousradiation(inhibitionandrecombination),
correspondingtothetypesofelementsfoundintheplasma.Aferthelaser
pulseceases,theplasmabeginstocooldown.Whentheplasmaiscooled,
theelectronsofatomsandionsintheexcitedstatesgointonaturalground
states,causingtheplasmatoemitlightwithcharacteristicspectralpeaks
(linearradiationspecifictotheemittedelementsfoundintheplasma).Tis
