life,butalsoprovidesfood,enablesefficientmovementoverlongdistances,butalso
constitutesanimportantaspectinpeople’sbeliefs.
Theaimofmyworkistoshowtheroleofwaterinbeliefsandmagicalpracticesof
earlymedievalinhabitantsofPomeraniabeforetheperiodofChristianizationofthispart
ofEurope.
Inmywork,Ianalyzedtheavailablehistoricalandarchaeologicalsources.Ialsojux-
taposedthemwiththefindingsofethnographers.
