title.Thecurrentsubjectmatter”Disabilityinfamilyasaneducationalchal-
lenge”conformstothediscussedissuesoftheeducationalandsocialsituation
ofthedisabledandtheirfamilies.
Parenthoodisaveryresponsibleroleandtask.Itistaughtneitherbycourse
booksnorschools.Mostfrequently,peopledecidingtobecomeaparentwould
likethechildtobebornhealthy.Theymakeplansforthefutureandwantall
thebestfortheirchild.Dreamsnotalwayscometrueinlife.Alonged-forbaby
issometimesbornwithdisability,orforvariousreasonsthechildbecomes
disabledwhilegrowingup.Thisbecomesadifcultsituationforeachfamily
andisoftenassociatedwithfear,confusion,feelingofinjustice,orisolation.
Whatconstitutesakeychallengeforparentsofdisabledchildrenisproviding
themwitheducationduetotheirneeds.However,itshouldbetakenintocon-
siderationthatinanydemocraticsystemthefamilyshouldnotbeleftalone
withtheseproblems.
Undoubtedly,thetransformationstakingplaceworldwideintheapproach
todisabilityresultinchangesintreatingthedisabled.Theaimistoensure
evenrightstothem,alsothroughtheirinclusionintomainstreameducation.
Itshouldbeemphasizedaswellthateducationisarightofeveryindividual,
whichiswrittendownasabasichumanright.Thus,theeducationsystem
aimsatfulldevelopmentofdisabledchildren’spersonalityanditsimple-
mentationshouldbetheresponsibilityofallengagedinworkwithchildren,
includingparents.Still,inordertofulfillitsdutytowardsadisabledchild,the
familyshouldbesupportedbyinstitutionsofcareandeducation.ThePolish
systemofeducationandtheregulationsofeducationallawtreatthesystem
