andsustainableindustrialbaseabletocompeteglobally.TisparticularUE
initiativeconfirmsthekeyimportanceofSMEsinits)economy,alsointour-
ismsector,andaimsatimprovingtheirbusinessenvironment.

Anagendafornewskillsandjobs:tomodernize
labormarketsbyfacilitating
labormobilityandthedevelopmentofskillsthroughoutthelifecyclewith
aviewtoincreasinglaborparticipationandbettermatchinglaborsupply
anddemand.TenextUEinitiativecanberelatedtotourismintheaspect
ofmodernizationofthetourismlabormarketthroughincreasingmobility
withineachandeveryUnioncountry,andsupportingworkforcecompetency
developmentinaccordancewiththelifelonglearningmodel.

Europeanplatformagainstpoverty:toensuresocialandterritorialcohe-
sionsuchthatthebenefitsofgrowthandjobsarewidelysharedandpeo-
pleexperiencingpovertyandsocialexclusionareenabledtoliveindig-
nityandtakeanactivepartinsociety.Tourismisaveryeńectiveareaof
realizationoftheUEpovertyreductioninitiatives,providingsocialand
territorialcohesion.Tourismońersworkforyoungpeople,aswellasreti-
rees,annuitants,forwhomotherlabormarketsareinaccessible.UEpolicy
involvessupportforsettinguptourismenterprisesinregionswithhigh
unemploymentrate,toenabletheirinhabitantstobecomeactivelyinvolved
insociety.
AlltheabovementionedprojectsofthenewlylegislatedUEdevelopment
strategyEurope2020relateinaveryparticularwaytoEuropeanTourismSec-
tor,encompassing27memberstates.Teyconstituteaformalframeworkofthe
EuropeanpolicyandinstitutionalactionswithinthecommonEuropeantourism
market.Settingupthepreciseandrenewedpolicymayresultineńective“increase
competitivenessoftheEuropeantourismsectoraswellascreationofmoreand
betterworkplacesthroughsustainabletourismgrowthinEuropeaswellasall
overtheworld.”2
