Regionalpartiesarefoundinalmosteverycountryintheworld,
atnearlyalllevelsofgovernmentandtheirinfluenceonthisprocessiscon-
sideredtobeverysignificant.Notonlydotheyimprovedemocracybyrep-
resentingtheregions9buttheyalsocontributetostrengtheningtheethnic
andregionalidentities.Ontheotherhand,theymaycontributetopolitical
