propagandatools.Tenewpoliticalandmilitarysituationin
UkraineandthePacificregionrequiresaredefinitionoftheex-
istingparadigmsofinternationalsecurity.Concernsaboutthe
returntotheColdWarscenarios,thebrinksmanshiptheories
ofnuclearconfrontation(despitethefactthattheChinesenu-
cleararsenalwasandstillisweakerthantheAmericanone)
andnewelements,especiallyincreasedcompetitionincyber-
space,outerspaceandthreatsofinitiationofproxyconflicts
havebeenconfirmed.Tothesurpriseofinternationalopinion,
Russianexpansionismhasnotbeenmetwithaconstructivere-
sponsefromtheTrumpadministration.Itwascharacterizedby
akindofisolationisminrelationtothepre-2016transatlantic
optionandapolicyofreferringtotheprincipleofpaternalistic
transactionalismincontactswithselectivelytreatedallies.Te
