Thevariouscrystalstructuresadoptedbyperovskitesarepseudosymmet-

aristotypestructure.Aswehaveseenabove,thesemainlyinvolveatom-
icdisplacementsandtiltedoctahedra.Thesedistortionscanbethought
ofasarisingfromphasetransitionsfromthearistotypestructurethrough
condensationofdistortionmodes.Therearetwousefulsoftwareapplica-
tionsthatenableonetodecidethroughsymmetryargumentswhichmodes
areresponsibleforaparticularstructure[21,22].
