TakingintoaccountthelimitsofthegeobotanicalregionalisationofPo-

land,thesouth-westernpartofthestudyareashouldbeincludedintotheGe-

obotanicalDivideKarpatyZachodnie(WesternCarpathians)(moreprecisely

intotheBeskidylandscaperegion),whichisapartoftheMountain,Central

EuropeanProvince.However,duetothescaleofthecartographicapproach

totheissueandthegeneraliseddelimitationofboundaries,thisafﬁliation

canbeomitted.

ThegeobotanicalregionalisationofPolandhasadifferentcharacter

(MATuSZkIeWICZ1993,2008).Incontrasttothedeductivedivisionthatwas

proposedbySZAFer(1972a),thisdivisionisinductiveandwasformed

throughthemergerofsmallerregionsintolargerones.Thebasicunitsare

landscapesubregions,whichareisolatedonthebasisofthediversityof

potentialnaturalvegetationandsomehabitatfactorssuchasareaswithaho-

mogeneousvegetationlandscape.Higherunitswereseparatedbygrouping

basicunitsthatwerebasedonthedifferentcriteriathatresultedfromthe

landscape,syntaxonomicandbiogeographicalcharacteristics(MATuSZkIeWICZ
