graphicpublicationsinthisareacameouteveryyear—oftenpublishedabroad
withMultilingualMattersorSpringer,amongothers—yettherewasnoacadem-
icresearch-orientedjournaldevotedtothetheoryandpracticeofSLAwhich
wouldbewidelyavailabletoPolishacademia.Followingthepublicationofthe
firstissue,however,itbecameclearthatitsscopewouldattractsubmissionsnot
onlyfromPolishscholarsbutalsointernationalacademics.Thusfar,TAPSLA
hasfeaturedarticlesbysuchrenownedcontributorsasDavidSingleton,Tammy
Gregersen,Jean-MarcDewaele—andmanyotherscholarsrepresentinginnova-
tivetrendsinSLAresearchworldwide.Thejournalhasbecomethevenueof
thoughtexchangeforacademicsathomeandabroad,focusingonoftenun-
researchedissuesandfairlynewdevelopmentsinSLAstudies.TheEditorial
BoardconsistsofbothPolishscholarsandforeignexpertsinthearea,and
representsthewiderangeofresearchinterestsofitsmembers.Allupdated

Thepresentissueconsistsofarticlesinvariousareasofsecond/thirdlan-
