1.3Godsaid,“Lettherebelight,”andtherewaslight.1.4Godsawthe
light,andsawthatitwasgood.Goddividedthelightfromthe
darkness.1.5Godcalledthelight“day”,andthedarknesshecalled
“night”.Therewaseveningandtherewasmorning,thefirstday.
1.6Godsaid,“Lettherebeanexpanseinthemiddleofthewaters,and
letitdividethewatersfromthewaters.”1.7Godmadetheexpanse,and
dividedthewaterswhichwereundertheexpansefromthewaters
whichwereabovetheexpanse;anditwasso.1.8Godcalledthe
expanse“sky”.Therewaseveningandtherewasmorning,asecond
day.
1.9Godsaid,“Letthewatersundertheskybegatheredtogethertoone
place,andletthedrylandappear”;anditwasso.1.10Godcalledthe
dryland“earth”,andthegatheringtogetherofthewatershecalled
“seas”.Godsawthatitwasgood.1.11Godsaid,“Lettheearthyield
grass,herbsyieldingseeds,andfruittreesbearingfruitaftertheirkind,
withtheirseedsinit,ontheearth”;anditwasso.1.12Theearthyielded
grass,herbsyieldingseedaftertheirkind,andtreesbearingfruit,with
theirseedsinit,aftertheirkind;andGodsawthatitwasgood.1.13
Therewaseveningandtherewasmorning,athirdday.

dayfromthenight;andletthembeforsignstomarkseasons,days,
andyears;1.15andletthembeforlightsintheexpanseofthesky
