gence(divergence)canbemadewhenanalysingmanydifferenteconomicandsocial

variables,whereconvergenceisunderstoodhereasareductionofdifferencesineco-

nomicfiguresbetweencountriesatalowerlevelofdevelopmentandthehighlydevel-

opedcountries0Theprocessesofeconomic,andmoreimportantly,socialconvergence,

arecarriedoutinmanyfields,hencetheassessmentoftheseprocesseswouldrequire

atthelevelofcomparisonsbetweencountries,theproportionsofGDPdividedby

populationgroups,regionsarenottakenintoaccount0Inotherwords,differentsocial

groups,areas,and,ultimately,individualcitizenscanbethebeneficiariesofeconomic

growth(GDP)todifferentdegrees0Researchonconvergenceatthatlevel,whichis

otherwiseneededandcarriedout,goesbeyondthescopeofourresearch0

Itshouldalsobenotedthatthestudyofconvergence(divergence)processes,even

withtherelativelysimplecriterionofGDPpercapita,encountersmethodological
