AsforthecatalogueofManfredTaube,againeachentryfromPander’scollection
wascheckedintheregisteroftitlesTaubeprovidesattheendofthelastvolumeofhis
catalogue.Ifagiventextwasfoundonthislist,itwasmentionedbelowtheJagiellonian
Libraryentriesinthefollowingway:entrynumber,pagenumber,volume(Ger.Teil)
number.Occasionally,ifthetitleslightlyvaried,yetdenotedthesametext,thetitleasit
istranscribedinTaubewasgivenaswell.
ThecatalogueofTouen-houangmanuscripts,preparedbyM.Lalou,hasbeencon-
sultedaswell,butnotasingleitemmatchingtheCracowcollectionhasbeenfoundthere.
ThereisthemanuscriptlistofthePandercollectionpreparedbyPanderhimself
andkeptattheOrientalDepartmentoftheStaatsbibliothek,Berlin(accessionnumber
HBC15).WemayassumethatPanderpreparedthislistwhileinChina,withthehelp
ofapersonwhoknewTibetanlanguagewell,probablyaTibetan.Thelistisalsoavail-
ableonthewebsiteofStaatsbibliothek.Wecomparedthehandlistwiththecatalogue
wewereworkingon.Asaresultwecanconrmthattherearenodifferencesbetween
thetwoconcerningbasicinformation,suchasthesequenceoftextsandtheiraccession
numbers.IntheBerlinmanuscriptlistofthePandercollectionwecouldndonlytwo
piecesofinformation,namelythetitleinTibetanandtransliterationofthetitleinLatin
scriptwiththenumberoffolios.TitlesinTibetanwerewritteninbrief,omittingmiddle
partsofthetitles.Thisoccasionallycreatedaprobleminrecognizingtexts.Thesystem
ofTibetantransliterationusedinthehandlistisnotWyliewhichismostpopularamong
Tibetologists.Onethingobviouslymissinginthehandlististheenumerationofseparate
textsregisteredunderonetitle,asithappensinseveralcases.Forexample,acc.181con-
tainsthreeseparateprayers,yetontheBerlinlistwemayndonlythetitleoftherst
one.Anotherobviousdifferencebetweenthetwolistsisthenumberoffolios.Itappears
thatPanderoftenprovidedinhisregisteronefoliolessthanwecanndintheactual
collection.Inseveralcasesithappensviceversa.Occasionallythedifferenceinfolio
numbersbetweenthetwoexceedstenormore.
InthePandercollectionkeptintheJagielonianLibrarytextslistedunderacc.338,
339and340aremissingandwewerepreviouslyunabletotellwhattheywere.Fortu-
natelythetitlesareprovidedinthehandwrittenlistkeptatStaatsbibliothek.Theyareas
